A great documentary that begs the question, "Why did they wait 50 years until finally releasing this film?" If you are a Beatles fanatic, as am I, you will find this film to be positively riveting. If you're not, don't waist your time. To see them outside the manic settings that we are all used to seeing them is revelational. To see them "pick out" and develop the songs that became timeless classics was interesting--to say the least. The footage is clean and crisp and, at times, even humorous. (admittedly, it could have been edited down to just one episode spanning three and a half hours, not the nearly eight of its present form) The answer to my own question, as I'm sure many others agree, as to why it took 50 years for this to come out is that whoever is making money off the fab four's genius is prolonging their salability. Why not keep the interest in them from ever dying, after all they were the best by many standards.
